Hi all, I just installed Beta2 as upgrade of XP.It took a while but worked OK. I activated sucessfully and then ran Windows Update. Upon re-boot I cannot login to Windows. Get message: "You cannot login because you have not activated your copy of windows. Please activate and try again. Error Information 0xC004F027 The software licensing service reported that the licence is tampered." So how do I activate when I can't log in?
TIA Kent

0xC004F027 licensing service reported that license is tamper
Boot to safe mode and uninstall any disk mounting software such as Daemon tools, Alcohol 120%, etc.... This is a known bug and will be corrected in the next build.

I fixed it! When I upgraded from XP to Vista the install program would not let me upgrade until I uninstalled Daemon Tools.I looked for uninstalled remains from instructions at Daemon Tools website forums. I could not find anything in RUN>REGEDIT > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services or C:/Windows/System32/Drivers. I see some old left over ATI drivers in the Services registry. I recienetly added a nVidia card to use Aero. I deleted the ATIxxxxx.xxx entries and files and re-booted. Everthing is working now!
Be sure to report the bug and the workaround to MS. It is a good catch.

I spoke too soon. This error has come back. If I re-boot it will useally fix.
I think it is fixed now. I think the cause was that the XP installation I upgraded from had Kaspersky antivirus. It did not seem to be present after upgrade but the Windows security advisor thought I had antivirus running. I uninstalled Kaspersky and have not had anymore trouble.
